Police in Vancouver have sent out a warning that anyone who is a customer of Citi Financial in Vancouver should keep a sharp eye on their credit reports due to the fact that the business was found unsecured on Saturday afternoon.
A customer was reported to have gone to Citi Financial to leave a payment a little after 4pm, and found that the front door was unsecured and there were no employees inside. They called 911 to report it; once the offices arrived, they soon found that a back door was also unsecured as were multiple filing cabinets containing people’s personal financial records.

Citi Financial Doors Left Open
The police have said that they are unsure if anyone has been through the files, but warn that customers should keep an eye on their credit reports in case anything strange shows up.
The files were secured once the police were able to contact a Citi Financial employee. So far to date, nothing untoward appears to have happened, but police say it’s odd that both the front and back doors were unsecured and no one was inside. Police are still investigating the issue, but it goes to show how important your financial information can be if not checked.
